As a country, we have all experienced the hardships that this year has brought both nationally and internationally, as well as locally within the town of Stockport. Nevermore has there been a need for charity, service and love and we are incredibly proud of the work we have continued to carryout throughout this difficult time for those who are most in need and the charities with which we are so honoured to support.
2022 has seen us raise money for CAFOD, the British Legion, Ukraine appeal and our local Wellspring Charity. Each one providing the support, care and money needed to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Through the work achieved by our pupils and staff we find ourselves embracing the Evron Values of Charity, Humility, Simplicity, Service and Unity that underpin who we are as a community at Harrytown.
For Remembrance Day we had our pupils in their Cadet’s uniform, selling Poppies around school. For Christmas our Youth SVP group have lead on many of the charitable activities run across the school this year. For our local homeless charity, The Wellspring, we have raised and donated £1730 as well as over 35 boxes of food donations which will be used over the Christmas period to help those who are most vulnerable in our local community. For CAFOD, we have raised £1745 and as we see many of our own families struggle this Christmas, we are truly grateful and proud of what we have achieved as a community and what our young people continue to do as they represent us in the wider world beyond Harrytown.
