On Wednesday 25th June, Mrs Rees and Mrs O’Hara were thrilled to welcome all the children at St Augustine’s on their ‘Jubilee Year of Hope’ Pilgrimage. As each class journeyed around our school grounds, they reflected on our catholic social teaching beliefs, focusing in particular on stewardship, preferential option for the poor and human dignity. We reflected on how we can live out our school mission statement ‘Following in the footsteps of Jesus to serve others’ in relation to caring for creation, food poverty, distributive justice and forgiveness. All our children valued this opportunity to journey together in reflection and prayer, with the theme of hope being a key message along our pilgrimage.
