Mini Vinnies and celebrating the Coronation
St Mary’s Chapel Group meet weekly on at Tuesday morning. They recently created a collage to depict the story of the road to Emmaus in St Luke’s Gospel Chapter 24 verses 13 – 35. It was a great conversation piece about how we sometimes do not recognise Jesus in the people that we meet. The Mini Vinnies came up with the idea of asking the school community to donate some sweets to bring some cheer to the residents of Newton Bank Care Home. The parents were so generous that they decided to make up hampers of sweets to present to the old folk staying at the home – needless to say, they were delighted. The staff kindly allowed us to take a photo of some of the Mini Vinnies presenting their gifts. This is a picture of the Sweet Hampers created by the Mini Vinnies.
Children planted sunflowers and delivered them to neighbouring houses to connect with our local community.
Our choir visited Newton Court Care Home to sing to them and do at art session with residents.
